The Empty Wall

My daughter moved out last August. I have since been slowly transforming her room into a guestroom. Everyone who knows me well, gets that I’m a beachy kind of girl, so I’ve kind of gone with that on my redo. Except I have a bare wall that I feel needs to have something. The Wall

I’ve dabbled in photography and sifted through my pictures, but none really fit the look I was going for.  I prefer taking woodsy pics.

I wanted something more artsy. Like a canvas watercolor of seashells. Painting is not my area of expertise, but I purchased supplies anyway, ready to charge ahead. But I stopped before making any major mistakes.

I contacted my daughter-in-law, Astrid for help. She’s an awesome artist, and I knew she’d give me a heads up. I can paint okay, but I can’t draw.

Below is my Astrid painting.

She graciously offered to do the drawing part, and I get to paint with watercolors once she was done. Expect another blog with the end results.

In the meantime, I’ll stick with what I do best.

About Debra Jupe

Hi, I’m Debra and I write romantic/suspense novels, with a bit of steam and a lot of fun. Creating stories is my passion. My favorite days are when I can tune out the universe, huddle over my laptop, and let my imagination go wild. More of my loves My kids-I am the proud mom of two. Son, Stephen and daughter, Hannah. I’m also a proud mother-in-law to Astrid and Ryan. I’m a huge animal lover and am “mom” to a houseful of adopted fur-babies. Animals know, when they show up at my house, they have a forever home. Texas-I’m a lifetime Texan. Born in Waco, I grew up in a small town, south of the city. In my early 20’s, I left and lived in different areas within the state. Twenty-eight years later, I happily returned home. I hope to have one more move in me. My dream is to live by the ocean, sit on the deck with a glass of wine and write. Bucket List accomplishments-In my 40’s, I did something I’d always wanted to do, which was return to school and further my education. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in 2011. My day job is working in the education system, teaching special needs children. Inspiration-Growing plants in my flower beds, painting, photography, travel (love the beach), I was born to shop-now if I just had the money, and I can be easily bribed with a tasty meal of Mexican food. Oh yeah, and chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Writing-I received my first publishing contract with The Wild Rose Press in 2013, and my initial release debuted in September the same year. I’m an active member of the Central Texas Romance Writers of America Chapter, and I serve as secretary of the group. I bought this book Toxic and loaned it out to a lady friend, well she actually borrowed it. She asked if there were anymore by this Author, so to my surprise as I checked to see, I thought there were others and there are. I was prepared to buy her a book but the lady told me she lives on a budget and she wants the next book to be hers. It’s only a week but the damn women has a hard head. She loved the book and will be back, then she can tell you herself. She told me she didn’t think I would care to read it. Ah but I had already started. I believe I left off where some guy was killed and something about blood and guts is mostly what I remember, now why wouldn’t a man like a book like this. What the hell if there is romance to, that’s what makes life interesting also. Anyway Alice will be back and I shall finish reading Toxic now that I have my book back. While I’m at it is there a new book out by Debra Jupe? I’m not sure who this information is going to so I’ll just say this, I would recommend this Author and this book to all readers out there.
